Amateur video shows continuing protests in Libya
Libya's leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, has vowed to crush the popular uprising, threatening death to those who oppose him.
Speaking on national TV the Libyan leader said he would rather be killed than give up.
There was renewed violence overnight in the capital as the regime battles to reassert its authority. Some cities in the east have apparently already fallen to the rebellion.
Amateur video and photos continue to appear on the internet purportedly showing widespread protests across the country.
Western journalists are being prevented from entering Libya. The BBC's Ian Pannell reports from the border with Tunisia.
