UN passes sanctions against Gaddafi and family

The United Nations Security Council has voted to refer Libya to the International Criminal court over alleged abuses that have taken place there during the current violence.

The council also passed a package of sanctions against the Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi and members of his family and inner circle.

The measures include international travel bans and freezing assets of family members.
