Dozens killed in Syria clashes

As many as 30 people are now understood to have been killed in Syria on Friday.

Most were killed in the southern city of Deraa when security forces reportedly opened fire on protesters.

Deraa has become a flash point for violence, which the government blames on armed gangs rather than reform-seekers.

Amateur footage posted on the internet appears to show protesters clashing with forces and mass funeral precessions in Deraa.

Speaking from the capital Damascus, the BBC's Lina Sinjab said anger is rising across the country as forces crackdown on protesters.

The BBC can not independently verify this footage.
