Syria crisis: State TV blames gangs for violence

Syrian TV has broadcast footage anti-government protesters on the streets, blaming what it called "armed, criminal gangs" for the recent unrest.

But footage posted online by opposition activists shows a very different side to the story, as Owen Bennett-Jones reports.
