Syria ambassador to the UN blames terrorists for bloodshed

Syria's ambassador to the United Nations has said his state has "exclusive responsibility for defending security" in the country.

Bashar Ja'afari claimed that armed groups were committing assassinations every day to try to destroy the foundation of the state.

He placed responsibility for the past year's bloodshed with terrorists.

And he objected to foreign intervention, saying: "We in Syria could not imagine sending soldiers to defend Occupy Wall Street protesters".
