'Arm rebels in Syria', says Radwan Ziadeh

Delegates at a summit on the Syrian crisis have vowed to step up ties with the main opposition umbrella group, the Syrian National Council.

They declared the council to be "a legitimate representative" of the Syrian people, a possible precursor to calling it "the legitimate representative."

Radwan Ziadeh, a spokesman for the group, said the move would send the right message to the Assad regime, but it was not enough.

And he said that arming the rebels was the only practical way forward for Syria.
