Iran election: Ayatollah Khamenei casts his vote

Iranian TV has broadcast images of supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei casting his vote in the capital, Tehran, as Iran goes to the polls to choose the 290 members of the legislative chambers, the Majlis.

The election is widely viewed as a contest between the supporters of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and those of Mr Khamenei.

Official results are expected on Sunday or Monday.
