Syria: Women and children killed in Homs

Activists in Homs have claimed that the bodies of 26 children and 21 women have been found in the city, some with their throats slit and others bearing stab wounds.

The Syrian government has acknowledged the deaths, but has blamed "armed terrorists".

Homs has been under assault for weeks as government forces have tried to root out rebel fighters.
