Syria crisis: Rebels claim military defections

A number of casualties have once again been reported in Syria, with clashes between rebel fighters and forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad in many parts of the country.

Meanwhile, activist have claimed that members of the military are defecting in ever increasing numbers.
