Baroness Amos: '2.5m people in Syria are in need of assistance'
The United Nations humanitarian chief, Baroness Amos, is in Syria to discuss stepping up emergency aid for civilians caught in the fighting.
Efforts to provide relief have been hampered by the escalation of violence in the capital Damascus and the commercial centre of Aleppo.
The UN says around 2.5m people across the country are now in need of assistance.
