Egypt court halts all work amid Islamist 'pressure'

Egypt's highest court has stopped its work indefinitely in protest at the pressure being put on them by Islamist groups.

On Sunday, supporters of President Morsi blockaded the Supreme Constitutional Court in Cairo, where judges had been due to discuss the legality of a recent decree which grants the president new widespread powers.

This is the latest confrontation between the president and his Muslim Brotherhood supporters on one side, and his mainly secular political opponents and the judiciary on the other.
