Egypt referendum: Voters expect result on Monday

Egyptians are awaiting the results of the second phase of a referendum on a divisive constitution.

Early results indicate it has passed, say state media and both sides, but the opposition has complained of voting fraud. Final results are due on Monday.

Critics say the draft document favours Islamists and betrays the revolution that overthrew Hosni Mubarak last year.

The BBC's Shaimaa Khalil in Cairo explained why so many people failed to vote, with turnout estimated at about 30%.
