World leaders are gathering in Northern Ireland for a G8 summit set to be dominated by the conflict in Syria.

Much of the debate will focus on the issue of sending arms to the rebels.

The Syrian government has warned that such a move would fuel the rise of Islamist groups, who are now attracting large numbers of foreign fighters.
