Muslim Brotherhood stage demonstrations against 'coup'

The backlash against the coup that ousted President Morsi appears to be gathering pace.

Mr Morsi's movement, the Muslim Brotherhood, has called on its supporters to hold peaceful protests to express their outrage.

The army is insisting it will allow them to go ahead, even though it has detained many of the Brotherhood's top leaders.

The African Union has suspended Egypt from the organisation because of the overthrow of President Morsi.
