Istanbul's controversial redevelopment plans

Turkey's government is still planning to redevelop large parts of the country's largest city, Istanbul, as it seeks to bid for the 2020 Olympic Games.

Protests at changes to Taksim Square and Gezi Park, which would see the area transformed into a replica military barracks, have died down but the government is determined to press ahead.
