Kurdish forces 'break IS hold on Mosul dam'
Kurdish officials say that their Peshmerga fighters have broadly taken control of a strategically important dam in northern Iraq from Islamist militants.
The Kurds' ground offensive has been co-ordinated with US forces.
If the recapture of the dam is confirmed, it will be the biggest blow to the militants since they launched their offensive in Iraq in June.
