Jewish activist Yehuda Glick shot and hurt in Jerusalem

A prominent right-wing Jewish activist, Yehuda Glick, has been shot and seriously wounded as he left a conference centre in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Yehuda Glick, who was born in the US, is a spokesman for Israeli groups who advocate more Israeli access to what it calls Temple Mount.

Israeli police spokesman, Micky Rosenfeld, described the shooting as an ''attempted assassination''.
