Al-Jazeera boss: 'It's a step in the right direction'

Egypt's highest court has ordered a retrial of three al-Jazeera journalists who were accused of helping the banned political movement the Muslim Brotherhood.

The journalists, who include the former BBC correspondent Peter Greste, are being kept in custody ahead of the new hearing.

It is thought the Egyptian president may intervene to pardon the men but the director of news at al-Jazeera English, Salah Negm, said they want all the charges to be overturned.

Mr Negm told the BBC's Simon McCoy nothing "justifies imprisoning a journalist for doing his job accurately and fairly".
