Syrian cartoons highlight plight of besieged Madaya

Syrian artists are producing cartoons showing who they hold responsible for the human suffering in the besieged town of Madaya.

Photographs and videos of severely malnourished people have been dominating opposition social media and featuring prominently on pan-Arab and international TV channels.

The rebel-held town in the mountains north-west of Damascus is under siege by Syrian government forces and allied fighters from Lebanon's Hezbollah movement. The UN says it has received credible reports of residents dying of starvation.
