Syria opposition 'must accept it has not won war'

UN special envoy Staffan de Mistura has said Syria's opposition must accept it has failed to win the civil war, but also that the government cannot "simply announce victory".

He said the imminent fall of so-called Islamic State's strongholds of Raqqa and Deir al-Zour meant the "moment of truth" was approaching for a peace deal to be agreed.
