Explosions seen as Gaza Strip in darkness

Large explosions can be seen rocking parts of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military says it has increased attacks in Gaza, adding that "ground forces are expanding the ground activity this evening".

Hamas has been quoted by the AFP news agency saying it has fired rockets at Israel in response to strikes.
