UN voices Pakistan flood fears as death toll soars
At least one million people in north-west Pakistan have been affected by the country's worst monsoon floods in living memory, the UN has said.
Rescuers are struggling to reach inundated areas where transport and communication have been cut off.
Latest figures from Pakistani officials put the death toll at more than 800, a figure which is expected to rise.
Manuel Bessler, head of the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Pakistan, said that it is hard to get a "full picture" of what is going on because so many areas are out of reach of emergency teams.
