Afghan children talk about life in Kabul
Afghan children have spoken about whether they feel safe in Kabul, as a NATO official claims the city is safer for children than London, New York or Glasgow.
NATO's most senior civilian representative in Afghanistan, Mark Sedwill made the comments in an interview for BBC Newsround.
He has since sought to clarify his comments saying: "I was trying to explain to an audience of British children how uneven violence is across Afghanistan.
"Half the insurgent violence takes place in 10 of the 365 districts and, in those places, children are too often the victims of IEDs and other dangers."
"But, in cities like Kabul where security has improved, the total levels of violence, including criminal violence, are comparable to those which many western children would experience."
Newsround spoke to children on the streets of Afghanistan to find out how scared they really were.
