US border states demand immigration law action

The debate over immigration laws in the US is heating up as Arizona's attempt to introduce even tougher legislation heads for the Supreme Court.

People in the border states feel strongly about the impact of illegal immigrants but far off in Washington many feel they are being ignored.

And with much of the almost 2,000-mile frontier marked by little more than small fences, ideas on how to deal more effectively with the issue are varied.
