Concerns over 'opening the door to GM food animals'

Genetically modified crops may have once been cutting edge, but now there is a new frontier - genetically modified animals.

The US Food and Drug Administration is considering applications to approve genetically modified farm animals for human consumption.

Lucy Sharratt, of the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network, told the BBC's Jeremy Cooke she had concerns over the development of GM food animals.
