US 'does not feel under threat from China'

China's President Hu Jintao is visiting Chicago, on his fourth day in the United States, talking to business leaders, many of whom are wary of China's global position.

Both US and Chinese leaders have expressed their desire for warmer relations, but the growth of China's power on the world stage has been the focus of the visit.

Anne-Marie Slaughter, Director of Policy Planning at the US State Department, has just completed a review of American power and ways to retain it, and told the BBC that the US did not see China as a threat.
