President Obama hosts annual Easter egg roll at White House
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have hosted the annual Easter egg roll in the gardens of the White House.
Standing on a balcony overlooking the South Lawn, Mrs Obama announced a record attendance level of 30,000 people, before joining her husband at the start of the annual egg rolling contest.
The president blew a whistle to start the race, before helping a young contestant who appeared to be struggling with her egg.
The tradition of egg rolling, where children attempt to roll coloured eggs across the South Lawn, dates back to 1878.
Other activities included yoga, story time, tennis and dancing.
