Mother of four murdered kids calls for tighter gun laws

A woman in Chicago whose four children have died from gunshot wounds has told BBC Radio 5 live's Shelagh Fogarty that firearm laws must be changed.

Shirley Chambers' youngest child, Ronnie, 33, was killed on Saturday as he was sitting in a parked car on the city's West Side.

Her son Carlos was shot dead by a high school classmate in 1995 after an argument and her daughter Latoya, 15 and son Jerome, 23, were killed within months of one another in 2000.

President Barack Obama is proposing a ban on assault rifles and wider background checks on buyers.
