North Korea: US will defend itself and South Korea, says Kerry

Secretary of State John Kerry has said the US will defend itself and its ally South Korea in the instance of any action by North Korea.

Speaking at a joint news conference with South Korea Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, in Washington, Mr Kerry said both countries would stay focused on ensuring the Korean peninsula was peaceful.
