Oscars archive preserves movies for future film fans
Most films shot before 1930 have been lost forever, according to preservation officers at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles.
But the Academy Film Archive is trying to stem the tide of that loss.
In its vaults are more than 80,000 titles - from Oscar-winners to unscreened documentaries and home made films - which they hope to preserve for future generations.
