LA mayor on US shutdown 'Get their act together'

The mayor of Los Angeles has said it is time for Washington "to get its act together".

Eric Garcetti said that "there are real consequences to real people here in Los Angeles, people who are not going to get housing vouchers and might be homeless."

The US government has begun a partial shutdown after the two houses of Congress failed to agree a new budget.
