Nelson Mandela death: Harlem reacts to South African leader's death

South Africa's first black president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela has died.

Mr Mandela, 95, led South Africa's transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s, after 27 years in prison.

During a trip to the United States in 1990, Mr Mandela stopped in the historic New York City neighbourhood of Harlem, a centre of black life in the city.

The BBC's Anna Bressanin spoke to African-Americans in Harlem about what the former South African leader meant to them.
