US surveillance should be curbed, says report
A panel set up by President Obama has recommended significant curbs on the massive electronic surveillance programme run by the National Security Agency.
It comes just days after a federal judge ruled parts of the programme were unconstitutional and it looks almost certain to go to the Supreme Court.
President Barack Obama convened the panel four months ago, when the former NSA contractor Edward Snowden began leaking secret documents to the media.
