Islamic State: Obama seeks Congress support

President Obama has asked Congress to authorise the use of military force against Islamic State (IS) extremists.

He already has the formal authority to attack IS, but wants the clear support of Congress.

This new measure would expire in three years and would not include the deployment of ground troops.
