US gay marriage licence is refused by clerk in Kentucky
A Christian official has refused to issue marriage licences to same-sex couples in Kentucky despite exhausting all of her legal options.
The US Supreme Court has rejected the argument that the faith of Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis prevented her from carrying out her duty.
Despite court orders to continue issuing licences, Ms Davis has turned away gay couples seeking marriage licences, saying her actions were ''under God's authority".
