Battle for gay marriage rights in Alabama

As the BBC's Aleem Maqbool continues to retrace the steps of the famous civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery 50 years ago, he asks people on either side of the same-sex marriage debate in Alabama if there are echoes of the past.

Alabama's Supreme Court has banned same-sex marriage, despite a federal judge ruling that ban as unconstitutional. It meant probate offices across the state had to suddenly stop issuing marriage licences this week.
