For the first time in Broadway history the four top musical acting prizes at this weekend's Tony Awards may go to people of colour.

This is in stark contrast to the Oscars earlier this year where African Americans and Latinos were shut out of the acting nominations.

The driving force behind the change on Broadway is seen as coming from the blockbuster hit musical Hamilton which is led by a cast of mostly black and Latino actors. Tom Brook reports from New York.
