Roofs blown away and trees uprooted by US storms

Clean up efforts are underway after severe weather swept across a large swath of the central US, leaving a trail of destruction.

The storm system spawned tornadoes in some areas, while strong winds and heavy rains caused damage in others.

The extreme conditions were felt across at least nine US states.
