A man clinging to a cliff is rescued by helicopter

The man fell nearly 60ft (18.2m) from a trail in a recreational area near the Golden Gate Bridge.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office responded to an emergency call on Sunday afternoon and saw - using a thermal imaging camera - the man clinging to the cliff face.

A tactical flight officer assisted the man and secured him with an harness before lifting him from the rock. The two were flown to the top of the cliff were the victim was assessed by medical personnel.

The Southern Marin Fire said the man suffered only minor injuries.
