Charter renewal: Culture Secretary announces BBC overhaul
The Culture Secretary John Whittingdale has outlined the government's plans to overhaul the way the BBC is run.
Delivering his proposals in the Commons, he said the BBC should not be seeing others as "rivals" but should be helping to "enhance, bolster and work in partnership with the wider creative industries".
However, shadow culture secretary Maria Eagle said he'd be better advised to "keep his nose out of it".
