In and around the Old Marylebone Town Hall, today has been all about love.

It's not just a day to remember for the happy couples - today is the 100th anniversary of the first marriage at the Old Marylebone Town Hall.

To mark the occasion, 100 ceremonies took place over 14 hours. Shona Mitchell and Kenny Price were one of the first four sets of couples to get hitched at 08:00 this morning, with Dexsha and Marcus wrapping up the day's celebrations just now.

We saw couples young and old come together, some marrying for the first time, others renewing their vows or forming civil partnerships.

There's been a palpable sense of comradery - with couples posing for photos together and wishing each other well.

From all of us at the BBC - thank you for letting us be a part of your special day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

It's what we've been building up to all day - Dexsha and Marcus are the 100th couple to tie the knot.

Dexsha says it feels very heart warming, and she even made a dress for her dog, Blue, to match her own wedding dress.

After 23 years together, they're off to celebrate with their families now.

Maria and Maurice, the 99th couple to wed, say the day has been "so professionally done" and they felt special despite sharing it with 99 other couples.

"We've been waiting 23 years for this. Three kids later and four pugs," says Maria.

So what now? "Go home. I've got uni tomorrow so I've got to wake up at six in the morning," she adds.

And their secret for a happy life? "Just being best friends," Maria says.

The 100th couple are just about to get married at Old Marylebone Town Hall - and Dexsha and Marcus have also brought their dog.

It's the second last wedding of the night - and Maria and Maurice have been accompanied by some very pawsome guests - their pugs Twiggy, Harley and Jojo.

We heard earlier from Dan and Danielle, who have just tied the knot and say they are "really buzzing".

They met at work and have been together since 2018. "It was love at first sight... thunderbolts and everything," says Dan.

One slight issue - they'll both be known as Dan Mason for short now, which they say could get confusing.

Dan wasn't originally keen on the idea of getting married along with 99 other couples on the same day, but he changed his mind and bought the wedding slot for Danielle as a Christmas present.

Couples have been tying the knot all day here at Old Marylebone Town Hall - and just seven more couples will exchange their vows here today.

Among the couples married today was the BBC's own Tom Mackintosh - who reported live from the scene - and his wife Paige.

We've seen couples posing for photos on the front steps of the town hall, a stage that's been shared by several famous couples, including Sir Paul McCartney and Oasis' Liam Gallagher (twice).

The countdown is on to the 100th wedding of the day at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London.

Couples 91 and 92 have arrived to say their vows - with only eight couples left to be wed today.

We've heard a lot today about couple meeting on dating apps and the latest newlyweds Theresa Broome and Theodore Lake are no different.

"We met about 13 years ago... we're an online dating success story," says Theresa.

Asked why they chose to get married today, she says: "We wanted something unique and special – something iconic."

Their secret to a happy relationship? Communication, humour and empathy.

Newlyweds Konstantin Lieontiev and Andrii Karakushan got married just over an hour ago.

The happy couple, both from Ukraine, told the BBC that they're over the moon and very happy after tying the knot.

They met on a dating app about six years ago.

Konstantin's top tip for a happy loving relationship?

“Support each other.”

Nearly there now: 11 more lucky couples will say "I do" this evening, as Old Marylebone Town Hall's day of 100 weddings inches closer to the end.

We've been on site all day, witnessing happy moments as couples from all walks of life as they tie the knot or renew their vows.

They've offered us a look into their lives - and in some cases, words of wisdom for other couples who are embarking on their future together.

Bride Beverley, who renewed her vows with husband Björn today, reminded newlyweds to focus on themselves on their big day.

While ceremonies are in full swing, some couples like Dan Mason and Danielle Hankin, still have a while left to wait before they say "I do".

Dan, 44, and Danielle, 35, won't be saying their vows until 21:30. When asked how they'd be spending the time before their night time wedding, Danielle says "probably with cocktails".

The couple have previously had to cancel their wedding due to the cost-of-living crisis and when Danielle first saw there were only late night slots left, she says she "thought it was a bit silly."

Dan booked it for her as a surprise Christmas present and she's fully embracing the evening wedding. She adds, “it’s an amazing venue, a great price and when are we going to get to do this again?”

The couple, from Farnham, Hampshire, are getting married at 21:30.

After 85 weddings, there’s confetti everywhere.

The staff at Old Marylebone Town Hall are doing a stellar job between ceremonies, making sure the famous steps are cleaned up for a new round of photographs.

A whole team, including 43 registrars, are on hand to make sure the day is special for every couple.

There are now just 15 ceremonies to go, not to mention a session with expert registrars who will be answering your wedding-related queries.

It's hungry work marrying all these people. To keep the registrars and other staff going until the last wedding at around 22:30 tonight, a whole stack of pizzas has just arrived.

The team here deserve them as they have been amazing throughout the day.

We are three quarters of the way through the 100 weddings taking place at the Old Marylebone Town Hall today.

There are 25 weddings still to take place. We've seen some truly beautiful scenes today, as friends and families have gathered to wish these couples well.

We've seen some very special guests, like Marvin the dog, who watched his owners Daisy and Dan tie the knot this afternoon.

And some couples, like Andy and Mel, have had their weddings following decades of partnership.

Lets bring you another couple now who met on a dating app.

Louisa Jones, 34, works as a midwife for the NHS and met her husband-to-be Jake Napper, 34, just before the Covid-19 pandemic hit the UK in 2020.

After matching on a dating app, the two met up for their first date in a pub half-a-mile down the road from the Old Marylebone Town Hall.

“I remember having a glass of rose because I was impressed as Jake came back with a large glass. And I thought that’s the man I am going to marry!”

“We are always mindful when we talk about the pandemic because there was a really positive spin on it for us.

“Our love and relationship grew because life just slowed down and we focused on the things that were important. We got to know each other so quickly.”

Old Marylebone Town Hall also holds personal significance for Louisa whose parents married 40 years ago and her brother who married seven years ago at the same venue.

“Celebrating a moment in history, it feels really good to part of it,” Louisa says.

Jake and Louisa will be getting married at 18:00 and plan to spend the day getting ready in Soho followed by some celebrations in Knightsbridge.

think we will be in a manic getting ready period, arrive at the venue and then get thrown into it,” Jake adds.

“All the registrars will be knackered by the time we get there.”

Despite a stubborn weather forecast, the rain hasn't dampened the good vibes radiating out of the historic Old Marylebone Town Hall.

Today's marathon nuptials coverage was born out of the idea of our very own Thomas Mackintosh - who married Paige at 10:30 this morning.

Don't worry, he was on strict instructions to clock-off well before the big moment.

For Melanie Butcher, it was a childhood dream to get married at the Old Marylebone Town Hall - where her mother also tied the knot when Melanie was seven years old.

"So I always knew I wanted to get married here," she tells the BBC.

After seven years together, Melanie and her husband Gamel Neequaye Dsane got married at 16:00.

"The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm, everybody's been amazing. We've loved it," Gamel says.

"We feel really lucky to have been married here," Melanie adds.
