  3. Searching for the elusive 'Liam Gallagher' tramspublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 11 July

    Molly Brewer
    BBC News, Manchester

In case you haven't heard, several of Manchester's trams have adopted Liam Gallagher's distinctive Mancunian voice as the station announcer.

So I've made it my mission to find one!

However, I've been told by Metrolink staff there are only a handful of these special carriages in circulation - and I'm yet to find one despite spending the afternoon hopping around the city.

The drivers I've spoken to are being very helpful but the trams we've come across so far all have the standard announcer who doesn’t quite have the same Manc twang as Liam.

    The search continues.....

  4. When Noel Gallagher played a fan's front roompublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 11 July

Tonight will be a very special night for every fan at Heaton Park and it will be a memory that is hard to top.

But one person might be able to do just that.

Back in 2006, Ben, from Poynton in Cheshire, won a BBC Radio 1 competition to have Noel Gallagher play in his front room - and BBC North West Tonight were there to tell the story.

We've been catching up with the Oasis garden girl - the fan who offered her back yard in Whitefield as a free campsite in exchange for a ticket.

"I've got my campers coming very soon all the way from Newcastle, they've described themselves as Ant and Dec from Wish," Liv Bridge said.

The 30-year-old said she had so many people contact her after she pitched her offer on social media that she was forced to do a whole application process.

"I had a little questionnaire for people to fill out with reasons for coming and how long they'd been a fan," she said.

"There were lots of fake applications, people who didn't have a ticket or just wanted to come for the party."

She said she is still feeling the impact of her viral post on X, which has since been seen by seven million people.

She added: "It was a crazy time and it's still going on, people who I don't even know come up to me and say I've seen you around are you the Oasis garden girl?"

  7. Luck of the Irish: Dublin couple secure tickets just this morningpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 11 July

    Charlotte Puckering
    BBC News Social Media, Reporter

“We’ve only just got the tickets!”

After missing out on securing passes last year, Shay and Wendy decided to take the plunge anyway and flew to Manchester from their home in Dublin this morning.

Their gamble paid off, with Wendy telling us she had only just received confirmation after working with her sister tirelessly on resale websites to get them in time for today.

Shay seemed to be in disbelief at first, and Wendy was physically shaking at the news.

She wasn’t sure exactly how much she’d spent on the tickets, but guessed they could be around £500 each.

But Shay said it was more than worth it, adding Oasis “mean absolutely everything” to him.

Everyone's wondering this - but there actually might not be a clear answer as the band could well decide to mix things up each time they play.

However, while the setlist for Heaton Park has not been confirmed, this was how things lined up when the brothers performed to 70,000 fans in Cardiff.

Busker Mirai Ito, from Japan, has managed to bag himself a ticket for the last night of Oasis' shows.

The 40-year-old says he “couldn’t give up” on the hope of watching the band after failing to get a pass when they were first released.

So, when he came to Manchester busking in September, he decided to try his luck.

He said most people simply laughed at him but after two weeks a woman offered to sell him her own ticket for face value.

Mirai says he thought it was a scam at first but once she followed through and he received the ticket he cried with joy.

He described it as “a miracle” and says he is filled with appreciation for Manchester, and for Oasis for bringing him here.

I’ve heard from staff that it’s at least a 45-minute wait.

Fans had better have brought their wallets and purses, however, with bucket hats priced at £35 and some hoodies an eye-watering £90.

Bags have to be smaller than A4 size so I bought one of those moon bags everybody got a few summers back.

Sun cream. Prescription sun glasses. Watch. Phone. 500ml bottle of aqua - with refills available onsite of course.

Took my headphones for listening to the Mad For Oasis series on the tram there (shameless plug there, sorry).

I also opted for a boonie hat over the more traditional bucket hat as it proved invaluable when I walked up the scorching Portugal coast for two weeks last summer.

And its gonna be very very hot!

It was just a stone's throw from their childhood home in Burnage.

Here are Liam and Noel popping in - separately, of course - for a brew with their mum.
