    Earlier, Great Western Railway told us that a section of the roof had been damaged at Westbury Station.

    James Davis from the operator has just confirmed that part of the canopy has been damaged at Chippenham Station too.

    He warned that there will be "significant delays" on services running from Bristol Temple Meads and Bath towards London Paddington as a result.

    National Highways says the M48 Severn Bridge is likely to remain closed until at least midday on Sunday.

    The M4 Prince of Wales bridge is also currently closed, but they are hoping to be able to reopen it later this morning.

    The wind will now start to shift from due westerly to north-westerly.

    Although peak gusts will gradually drop, the wind direction carries additional risks.

    Trees are not very resilient to strong gusts from infrequent directions - such as from the northwest.

    Coupled to potential prior damage from the recent Storm Bert, and saturated ground with poor root anchorage, the strong northwest wind developing today will surely topple further trees. Please beware!

    With a number of trees falling across the region - Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, external is urging people to only call 999 if there is a risk to life.

    They said if there is no risk to life, people are told to contact their local authority.

    Downside Road, from the A370 to Cooks Bridle Patch, has reopened in both directions after a fallen tree was removed.

    Storm Darragh is causing disruption across the West of England. A rare red warning is in place until 11:00 GMT along the coast from Minehead up to Bristol. An amber warning is in place in more inland areas.

    Yeovil Town's match against Weymouth rearranged match will take place on Tuesday.

    The Somerset club confirmed its home fixture has been postponed on social media to "ensure safety".

    The game will kick off at 19:45 GMT instead.

    The Bristol Bears Women's game against Exeter Chiefs at Ashton Gate has been postponed due to Storm Darragh.

    The Premiership Rugby match was supposed to kick off at 15:05 GMT on Saturday.

    The decision was made after an inspection of the stadium's grounds and pitch.

    Tickets will remain valid for the rearranged fixture, which will be announced in due course.

    Great Western Railway said a section of the roof at their station in Westbury has been damaged, causing significant impact to services.

    The station has been closed due to the damage to the roof on platform 3.

    Services between Bristol and Portsmouth and Bristol and Weymouth are affected.

    According to traffic monitoring website Inrix, the A36 has reopened in both directions after a collision between the A366 Norton St Philip and Branch Road.

  16. Faresaver Buses suspendedpublished at 09:35 Greenwich Mean Time 7 December

    Faresaver Buses have suspended all services across Wiltshire and Bath until further notice, due to the large number of fallen trees.

    In a statement, the operator said: "Whilst we understand this will cause some inconvenience, we are mindful that if we start services only to cancel them later, we may leave people stranded without a way to get home.

    "The safety of staff and passengers is paramount in these conditions and as the police have advised, people should only travel if essential."

    Somerset Council said a number of roads are closed in the county as the storm continues.

    These include:

    • A367 Stratton-on-the-Fosse due to a fallen tree on Bath View
    • Long Bottom Cross - Stoke St Michael due to a fallen tree
    • Church Street - Timberscombe, Minehead, due to a fallen tree
    • A36 Norton St Philip due to a collision

    They also said the A37 Wraxall may be affected.

    A gust of 89mph has been recorded on Exmoor in Somerset, according to BBC weather forecaster Dan Downs.
