    Wizkid closes out the Fashion Awards

    The red disco ball has lowered inside the Royal Albert Hall as this year's Fashion Awards comes to a close with a performance by Afrobeats singer Wizkid.

    Welcomed by a surprise performance from Blondie, designers, photographers and models were celebrated by the fashion community.

    Alex Consani became the first trans woman to win the Model of the Year award, while Tom Ford won the Outstanding Achievement Award. He was introduced by fashion legend Anna Wintour, who praised him for his "fearlessness".

    Jonathan Anderson won the prestigious Designer of the Year award for the second time in a row, telling the crowd that fashion gets him out of bed every morning.

    There was also some impassioned speeches - with Irish fashion designer Simone Rocha and photographer and activist Nan Goldin saying "Free Palestine".

  3. Remo Ruffini wins the Trailblazer Awardpublished at 22:29 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December

    And the final prize of the night goes to Remo Ruffini, CEO of Italian luxury fashion brand Moncler, who says "Grazie a tutti" as he accepts the Trailblazer Award.

    "Creativity is the language of possibility," he tells the crowd.

    This is Jonathan Anderson's second win in a row for Designer of the Year.

    The Irish-born designer, known for his innovative styles and gender-fluid designs, begins by thanking his team.

    "I love Fashion. It makes me get out of bed every morning," he says, before paying homage to fellow designer Tom Ford.

    "Every time something good happens, Tom Ford is in the room."

    Jonathan Anderson has won the award for Designer of the Year.

    The award recognises a "British or international designer whose work has made a notable impact on the industry, defining the shape of global fashion".

    "Nominees are recognised for creative excellence, outstanding collections and innovation," the BFA says.

  6. 'I'm the first trans woman to win this award' - Alex Consanipublished at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December

    Alex Consani walks onto the stage with the biggest applause of the night.

    "I'm the first trans woman to win this award," she tells the crowd.

    She thanks the black trans women who she says "fought for this space where I am today".

    "Now more than ever we need to uplift others in the industry," she says.

    Alex Consani has just won the award for Model of the Year at the Fashion Awards.

    The award recognises the global impact of a model who has "dominated the industry" over the last 12 months, the Fashion Awards says.

    "With an influence that transcends the catwalk, the Model of The Year has made an outstanding contribution to the industry, garnering numerous editorial and advertising campaigns throughout the year," it adds.

    Actress, writer and producer Issa Rae has just received the Pandora Leader of Change Award.

    The Fashion Awards says the accolade "celebrates a person who leads with innovation to create positive change globally".

    She is the founder of Hoorae Media - formerly known as Issa Rae Productions - which, along with HBO, produced Golden Globe nominated series Insecure.

    Rae first became known for her YouTube web series, The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl, which began in 2011. Her memoir, with the same title, was a New York Times bestseller.

    She also played President Barbie in Greta Gerwig's Barbie in 2023.

  9. 'London is the most inspirational city,' says Tom Fordpublished at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December

    Tom Ford is now on stage accepting his award.

    He begins by thanking Anna Wintour.

    "I'd like to thank each and every one of you - the talented people I've had the great fortune to work with," he says.

    Ford says he's lived more of his life in London than any other city, adding "London is the most inspirational city in the world", before walking off stage.

    Media executive and Vogue legend Anna Wintour is introducing Tom Ford's Outstanding Achievement Award.

    She says Ford has an “extraordinary eye for genius” and speaks of his "perfectionism to every detail down to packaging".

    His "fearlessness" is what makes him unique, Wintour tells the crowd, and says he can't help but be brilliant.

  11. Tom Ford to receive Outstanding Achievement Awardpublished at 22:01 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December

    Tom Ford is about to accept the Outstanding Achievement Award.

    Before he takes the stage, a short film "Tom Ford by Tom Ford" is shown on screens, featuring an amalgamation of runways, photoshoots and designs he's created throughout his fashion career spanning decades. Stars like Gigi Hadid, Beyoncé and Drake are shown adorning his designs.

    The film then shifts its focuses on the renowned designer's film career, playing clips from Nocturnal Animals, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, which he wrote, produced and directed.

  12. 'It's about time,' says A$AP Rocky as he accepts awardpublished at 21:41 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December

    "It's about [expletive] time", A$AP Rocky tells the crowd while accepting the award.

    Introduced by his mentor and French fashion designer Michèle Lamy, he says the Cultural Innovator Award "means so much".

    Accepting her Special Recognition Award, Sophia Neophitou-Aposolou says she hopes it'll show her son that "working hard means you can achieve your dreams".

    Sophia Neophitou-Apostolou - a fashion editorial aficionado - is presented with the third Special Recognition award of the night.

    Neophitou Apostolou started out as an assistant at Vogue, before launching her own publishing empire. She now works as editor-in Chief and Publisher of 10 Magazine, as well as 10 Men.

    The mogul has also relied on her extensive experience to advise as a fashion director for numerous magazines including the Sunday Times Style and Vogue China amongst others.

    Simone Rocha has taken the stage to accept the award for British Womenswear Designer of the Year.

    "I'm very proud of the work I've produced," she says, before thanking her team.

    "My collections fuel my emotions. With this award I'd like to honour all the women and children who are displaced" she says, before adding "Free Palestine".

    Earlier on in the night, American photographer and activist Nan Goldin ended her thank you speech by also saying: "Free Palestine". She was receiving Gucci's Special Recognition award for its 'We Will Always Have London" campaign.

    Irish fashion designer Simone Rocha has won the award for British Womenswear Designer of the Year.
