    More results have also been declared in Northamptonshire.

    In the Irthlingborough ward, Matt Davies and Gregory Wilcox have been elected for Reform UK.

    Then in Raunds, the party takes two further seats with Liz Wright and Kirk Harrison.

    The Conservatives do win one seat though, via deputy council leader Helen Howell, who retains her place.

  2. Reform extend their lead over the Toriespublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 2 May

    The latest results in West Northants come in Duston ward, where Hayley Adkins, Vincent Clive and Jasmine Rainbird have won for Reform UK.

    That takes the party's total to 26, meaning there is real daylight between them and the second-placed Tories, who have 14 seats.

    Back to West Northants now, where a big story is developing.

    That is because council leader Adam Brown has just lost his seat in Campion ward.

    He loses out to Reform UK's Debra King, with Conservative Philip Bignell winning the other vote.

    That is a huge blow to the Tories here.

  4. Greens take their tally to five in North Northantspublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 2 May

    Next up is St Michael ward in North Northants, which has just been won by Green Polly Shackleton.

    That takes her party's tally to five so far on the night.

    This is swiftly followed by the results in the Gretton and Weldon ward being announced.

    Reform UK are the winners there, with Eddie McDonald and Barry O'Brien winning the two available seats.

  5. Tories gain momentum but are immediately pushed backpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 2 May

    You take your eye off the North Northants count for just a moment, and suddenly it's all happening.

    Scott Brown and Vicki Jessop win Earls Barton ward for the Conservatives...

    ...But then they are immediately pushed further behind by Reform UK, who win three seats in Kingswood.

    Helen Campbell, Graham Cheatley and Vlaho Radin are their winners here.

  6. Further wins for Lib Dems and Toriespublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 2 May

    The results are continuing to pile in at the West Northants count.

    Stephen Clarke has taken Cogenhoe and The Houghtons ward for the Conservatives.

    Meanwhile, the Lib Dems' Christine Ware has won Naseby.

    The win for Reform UK in Daventry South means Labour group leader Wendy Randall has lost her seat.

    It follows a similar blow for the party in Northamptonshire earlier.

    Labour candidates here are continuing to be prevented from speaking to the media, including the BBC, by party officials.

    As I tried to speak to Randall just now, they put themselves between us.

  8. Tory cause for concern as Reform wins continuepublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 2 May

    Still in West Northants, and the Tories have cause for concern.

    That's because Reform UK have just beaten off a packed ballot to win three further seats in Kingsthorpe North.

    For those keeping track (and those failing to) that means Reform now have 19 councillors in the west.

    The Conservatives have 12.

  9. And just like that...Reform back in the driving seatpublished at 19:45 British Summer Time 2 May

    And just like that, a huge surge by Reform UK has put them back in the driving seat in West Northants.

    First, Richard Pipes takes Daventry North West.

    Then a hat-trick is won in Daventry South, with Kamala Guliyeva, Anthony Lock and Alexander McMurty winning in Daventry South.

    That's four seats won by Reform in a matter of minutes, putting them four clear of the Tories.

    Staying in West Northants, where the Conservatives have just drawn level with Reform UK.

    Rebecca Breese and Rosemary Herring have just taken Middleton Cheney, meaning both parties have won 12 seats each today.

    It's proving to be a real battle in the west of the county.

    The Lib Dems have just won their second and third seats of the night for one authority, this time in the Braunston and Crick ward.

    Rosalind Humphreys and Andrew Simpson's win takes their party's total up to three on West Northamptonshire Council.

  12. Two more seats as Reform wins again in North Northantspublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 2 May

    Martin Griffiths and Chris Munday are Reform UK's latest winners in North Northants, and the party's seats are tallying up.

    The new councillors have been elected in the Croyland and Swanspool ward, taking 1,511 votes between them.

  13. 'I'm just an everyday person', says new Reform UK councillorpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 2 May

    Reform UK's Trevor Conway, who won Oakley ward in North Northants, tells us his party had "amazing support" on the doorstep.

    He believes he is one of many who think "things are not done properly" by Labour and the Conservatives.

    Conway said he was an "everyday person" who had never stood for election before.

    "We've had amazing support from local people and nationally, and now the real work can begin," he adds.

    The Greens have just won another two seats on North Northamptonshire Council, bringing their total so far to four.

    Liane Robinson and James Towns have just been declared winners in Kettering Central.

  15. Councillor 'over the moon' to retain seatpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 2 May

    We mentioned a few posts below that Jim Hakewill has won the most votes secured by any candidate today.

    Stopping for a quick chat, he tells us he is "over the moon" to retain his seat.

    "As an independent, it's been really tough... but I'm just indebted to all the lovely people in Rothwell [and] Mawsley," he says.

    Hakewill adds he has "lots of experience and I hope I can work with whoever is in control" of the council.

    It appears that Reform UK are on a roll, and they've just picked up another seat.

    This time it's Denis Mclean in Pipers Hill ward, who secured 32% of the vote with 453 choosing him as their councillor.

  17. Reform continue to steamroll through North Northantspublished at 19:06 British Summer Time 2 May

    We have another Reform UK winner in North Northants, with Julie Howe securing the seat in Avondale Grange with 376 votes.

    The party has now had 20 councillors elected today, and there's no sign of them slowing down either.

    Huge cheers among the Lib Dem crowd here in West Northants, as the party scoops its first seat of the night.

    Jonathan Harris has taken Brixworth ward with 1,131 votes, a pretty resounding win compared to second-placed Reform UK with 385.

    Back to West Northants now, where Woodford and Weedon ward has just been declared.

    The winners are Conservative Rupert Frost and Reform UK's Charles Hastie.

    It's so tight here in West Northants at the moment, with two seats separating the parties overall. So far, Reform UK are on 12 and the Conservatives are on 10.

    We've just had the biggest result of the night... Take a bow, Jim Hakewill!

    The Independent candidate secured 2,331 votes - a number topped by no one else so far.

    He won in the Rothwell and Mawsley ward on North Northamptonshire Council.

    But let's not forget Christopher Kellett and Brian Bennyworth, who have also been elected for Reform UK.
