    It's typical that as soon as we post a graphic, it all gets ripped up.

    That's because the Conservatives have just won three seats in the Rural South Northamptonshire ward, in West Northants.

    Alison Eastwood, Charles Manners and David Smith are the winners there.

    This is turning into quite the night for Reform UK.

    We've just heard the party has won all three seats in the Barton Seagrave and Burton Latimer ward.

    Newly-elected councillors Jan O'Hara, Maurice Eglin and Leon Gibbs secured almost 4,500 votes between them.

    That takes their total tally in North Northants to 17.

    It means Scott Edwards, the council's executive member for children, has lost his seat.

    Well, we can add another few tallies to that list below, as the Conservatives have just won two seats in North Northamptonshire.

    Tom Partridge-Underwood and Jon-Paul Carr are the successful candidates in the Irchester ward.

    Reform UK also have a winner in the same ward, with Gordon Dunsmuir elected in the third seat.

    Right, that's all been very quick, hasn't it?

    I've been frantically keeping note of each result with a trusty notebook and pen, and here's where we're at so far:

    North Northamptonshire Council

    • Reform UK: 13 seats
    • Conservative: 5 seats
    • Labour: 2 seats
    • Green Party: 2 seats

    West Northamptonshire Council

    • Reform UK: 10 seats
    • Conservative: 6 seats
    • Labour: 4 seats
    • Independent: 1 seat
  6. 'I've been swept away by Reform Tsunami', says Torypublished at 18:10 British Summer Time 2 May

    James Hill has been pretty damning about the Conservatives while speaking to us just now.

    The Tory candidate lost his seat in Billing ward to Reform UK.

    Hill says: "Reform is a tsunami and I've been caught in the crossfire."

    He claims the Conservative Party has not done itself "any favours" over the past 14 years, "both locally and nationally".

    "My party have been involved in too many scandals," Hill continues.

    "We have very good people in our party, but too many of them have been silent on many issues".

  7. Reform scoops Rushden Lakes wardpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 2 May

    Reform UK have just won another two seats in North Northants, this time scooping Rushden Lakes ward.

    Keith Clarke topped the list with 767 votes, closely followed by Jack Goncalvez in second. Both are elected to the council.

    Back to West Northants now, where Reform UK have just won a further two seats in Billing.

    Mark Deakes and Silas Hays have taken the party's overall tally to 10 this afternoon, with plenty more still to play for.

    And another Reform UK winner in North Northants now, this time in Geddington and Stanion ward.

    Brendon Lovell-Moore is their victor with 638 votes.

    The Tories came second, followed by Labour, the Greens and the Lib Dems.

    Back in North Northants now, where we're just hearing the results for Brickhill and Queensway ward.

    It's good news for Reform UK, which has won all three seats that were up for grabs.

    Gavin Beales, John Carvetta and Darren Rance are the successful candidates.

    That takes Reform's total tally up to 10 so far today.

  12. Labour and Reform win more seats in West Northantspublished at 17:43 British Summer Time 2 May

    Staying in West Northants, Labour and Reform UK have just won in Blackthorn and Rectory Farm ward.

    The successful candidates were Keith Holland-Delamere and Jeffrey Johnson respectively.

    Wow - that was close.

    Conservative Peter Matten has just held onto his Daventry North East seat on West Northamptonshire Council.

    And it really was tight, with just four votes separating him from Reform UK's Ashton Elmes.

    It means the Tories have once again pegged back Reform, who still lead as it stands.

    Shall we take a moment to breathe?

    While local elections bring drama, late nights and a lot of votes, the highlight for many is the #DogsAtPollingStations trend.

    We see it every year as people take their pets along as they cast their ballots.

    We've just been sent this image of Yoshi, a 13-year-old Chinese crested dog who faithfully waited for their owner as they voted in Rothwell.

    Yes, we're a day late, but who doesn't want to see Yoshi?

    The Conservatives have just picked up another seat in West Northants.

    It comes in the Rural North East ward, where Cecile Irving-Swift is victorious.

    That makes the scores on the doors seven to Reform UK, five to the Conservatives, three for Labour and one for an Independent.

    Daniel Lister, who just won Long Buckby ward for the Tories in West Northants, says "strange things" are happening.

    He tells the BBC: "If you look at the national picture and what has happened in some of the other councils, I'm not holding my breath here certainly.

    "There's lots of strange things happening out there where votes are split - anything could happen."

    The Conservatives currently have four seats here, trailing Reform UK with seven.

    Two more seats in West Northants have just been won by the Conservatives.

    Stephen Hibbert and Andrew Kilbridge were elected in the Weston Favell and Abington Vale ward, where there was a 37.56% turnout.

    Another Reform UK win now in West Northants, for the Deanshanger and Paulerspury ward.

    Ivan Dabbs has won for the party, alongside Independent candidate Ian McCord.

    Looks like McCord's cheeky request worked after all!

  19. 'Working class voters turning away from Labour'published at 17:19 British Summer Time 2 May

    We've just been catching up with Labour's Mark Pengelly, who retained his seat on North Northamptonshire Council.

    He says he is happy to have won in the Lloyds and Corby Village ward, but is "disappointed" Labour did not pick up the other seat.

    "People in our working-class housing estates were saying they weren't voting for us," he reveals.

    "We've got to understand why that is, and we've got to work with them and engage them and get them back on our side."

    The Conservatives now have a hat-trick of their own to celebrate in Desborough ward, North Northants.

    David Howes, Bill McElhinney and Harry Howes have each won one of the three seats that were up for grabs.

    Their closest opposition came in the form of three Reform UK candidates.

    As it stands in North Northants, Reform has seven councillors, the Tories have five and Labour and the Greens have two each.
