  1. 'Tight' contest predicted in Waveney Valleypublished at 00:41 British Summer Time 5 July

Waveney Valley is a key target seat for the Green Party.

BBC reporter Alex Dunlop is at the count in Debenham and said: "Rumour on the floor that it could be very tight between Conservatives and Greens, but boxes are still coming in."

  2. General election gone globalpublished at 00:37 British Summer Time 5 July

Cameron Noble is live at the count in King's Lynn:

There’s International news reporters here in Norfolk. Italian news station Rai Italia are broadcasting live from the count in King’s Lynn. But why has this general election gone global? Correspondent Emma Farnè wants to know: “Why is the UK moving left when everywhere else like France and Italy are moving right?”

  3. Postal ballots hand-deliveredpublished at 00:30 British Summer Time 5 July

    Andrew Sinclair
    BBC East political editor

South Norfolk Council hand-delivered 30 ballot papers today to residents whose postal ballots had not arrived in time.

Returning officer Trevor Holden said: “There have been some challenges getting ballot papers delivered on time this year but that was a national problem.

“Our task is to make sure that people who want to vote can vote.”

He said that a total of 50 ballot papers had been hand-delivered in the last few days in South Norfolk after residents reported either losing the original one or it not having arrived.

The Royal Mail has conducted a final sweep of its sorting office in Norwich this evening for any filled in postal ballots, which may be stuck in the system.

They are now being driven to individual counts across Norfolk.

  4. Ballot boxes arriving at North Norfolk countpublished at 00:13 British Summer Time 5 July

    Paul Moseley
    BBC Norfolk political reporter

The first ballot boxes arrived at North Walsham Sports Centre a short while after 22:00, with verification of votes now under way.

Held by the Conservatives since 2019, this is a seat where the vote could be very close between them and the Liberal Democrats, who had held it for the previous 18 years.

The exit poll does predict this seat switching back to the Lib Dems.

I'm told that at this point, neither their candidate Steffan Aquarone, or the Conservative incumbent Duncan Baker, plan to comment until the result is declared.
