    Duncan Cook
    BBC News, Gloucestershire

I'm at Cleeve Sports Centre in Bishops Cleeve for the Tewkesbury count.

Conservative Laurence Robertson has been Tewkesbury's MP since the seat was created in 1997 and is looking for an 8th general election victory.

But hot on his heels is RAF veteran and Lib Dem candidate Cameron Thomas.

The result is expected at around 5am

  2. South Cotswolds: All change .... or is it?published at 23:39 British Summer Time 4 July

    Charlotte Lewis
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire news editor

The South Cotswolds might bring to mind bucolic villages and charming market towns.

But is life there really a rural idyll? And is it still a Conservative stronghold?

The seat is one of the newly-formed constituencies being fought for the first time this general election.

So what is the South Cotswolds constituency and what will the changes mean?

    More from Charlotte here.

  3. Cheltenham - Lib Dems feeling goodpublished at 23:34 British Summer Time 4 July

    Steve Knibbs
    BBC West, Gloucestershire reporter

In these boxes the fate of the candidates and I can tell you that the Lib Dems are feeling VERY confident here.

The former Lib Dem MP for Cheltenham, Martin Horwood, is here and said: "We are cautiously optimistic. If the exit poll is correct with 61 seats for the Lib Dems then you have to expect Cheltenham to be one of those."

Count officials have told me the Forest of Dean is expected to declare slightly later.

Originally the Forest was expected to finish things off at 3am.

The BBC is now predicting the Forest as too close to call.

Candidates for the Labour Party, Liberal Democrats, Reform UK and Greens are here, but incumbent, Conservative Mark Harper, is yet to arrive.

    Edward Rowe
    BBC News, Gloucestershire political reporter

Verification of the postal votes has started.

Meanwhile the first ballot boxes are arriving into the counting area.

We're expecting a result here in the Forest of Dean around 03:00 but one party activist told me a recount would mean results wouldn't be declared until 08:00.

Certainly an evening to pace yourself at Forest Oak Farm.

Hello from Cirencester, where there are two counts taking place.

Both North and South Cotswolds are new seats after boundaries were re-drawn. The old seats were both held by Conservative MPs.

Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown (Cotswolds North) and James Gray (South Cotswolds) will be hoping the boundary changes don't affect their chances of retaining their seats.

  12. Gloucester: Is this Gloucestershire's weathervane?published at 22:48 British Summer Time 4 July

    Esme Ashcroft
    Political reporter, BBC Gloucestershire

Gloucester has been a bellwether seat since the late 1970s, which means it always elects an MP of the same party as the government.

The result here is expected at around 3am, which means it could be an interesting indicator for how the rest of the county, and even country have voted.

Conservative incumbent, Richard Graham, has been campaigning hard, but so too has his main challenger, Labour's Alex McIntyre. What's not known is the impact Reform UK and the Liberal Democrats will have on vote share.

Some good news - the returning officer has brought in more staff this year and is aiming for a 2.30am declaration. Wish us luck.

  16. Welcome to live coverage of the general election in Gloucestershirepublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 4 July

    Chris Kelly
    Digital Editor, BBC West

Welcome to live coverage of the general election in Gloucestershire.

Just as when England play in any tournament we have a random Octopus that predicts the result, in the general election we have Gloucester. Since 1979, a bellwether seat that returns an MP of the same party elected as a majority in the Commons.

Will it be the same this time?

Richard Graham has been the city's MP for more than a decade. Alex McIntyre is the Labour challenger in the city. If you want to read more about that fascinating battle,my colleague Esme Ashcroft wrote about it here.

There are other fascinating subplots across the county, too. In fact, there's also a new seat in the South Cotswolds which now shares its boundaries with Wiltshire. And, in the North Cotswolds, Geoffrey Clifton-Brown is hoping to remain as Tory MP there.

And Cheltenham (excuse the pun) could be a photo finish as the Liberal Democrats' Max Wilkinson challenges Conservative Alex Chalk.

More on all those battles shortly with reporters from each count.

As well as live coverage on this page, our colleagues from BBC Radio Gloucestershire are on air all night. Adam Crowther is on now and you can listen live at the top of this page.

  17. We'll have live results on this page after 10pm tonightpublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 4 July

Polling booths are still open across the West of England. Once they close at 10pm, we'll have live results coverage here.

We will have dozens of reporters out across the area at every count.

You will also be able to listen to live coverage from your BBC Local Radio station at the top of this page.
