    Liberal Democrat Danny Alexander says he and his party colleagues have been "sweep away by this tidal wave of nationalism".

    Mr Alexander, who lost his Inverness seat to the SNP, said: "I'm proud of what I have done for this constituency over the past 10 years and what have done for the past five years.

    "I fought a very positive campaign and I'm grateful for the support I received but it wasn't enough."
