The scoreboard doesn't look that exciting - only one seat has changed hands.
But Leanne Wood's win in Rhondda is a big political event. Cabinet minister Leighton Andrews has lost his seat and Ms Wood has achieved what she was elected Plaid Cymru leader to do - win in the valleys.
Although Labour's vote share is down, the party will still be the largest and could end up on 28 seats - at the higher end of their expectations.
UKIP is set to take its first seats, although we're still waiting for the regional list votes to find out exactly how many the party will have.
There are question marks over the Conservatives' campaign and the failure to win any of their target seats.
And other than a thumping personal triumph for Kirsty Williams in Brecon and Radnorshire, it's been another miserable night for the Liberal Democrats.
